We are currently forming a plan to assist with the future Cybersecurity bill being proposed in congress. While this can at times be a controversial debate, we believe that if ethical people and companies get involved to assist, the power within the bill will be used for good, rather than for alternative motives. We intend to be one of those ethical firms helping to steer the developments into a user and business friendly approach.

More to come on our developments and on specific aspects of the proposed bill. We will post descriptions of sections we are attempting to help with, and our plan to do so.

Section 203 -
Requires the NIST Director to implement a cybersecurity awareness and education program through the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program which shall include efforts to make cybersecurity technical standards and best practices usable by individuals, small to medium-sized businesses, state, local, and tribal governments, and educational institutions, including elderly populations, low-income populations, and populations in areas of planned broadband expansion or deployment. Requires a report to Congress containing a strategy for implementation of such program.
Concept Management Partners is positioned to provide assistance in the above areas, as we believe it will take a major initiative over multiple regional entities to oversee this effort. Providing Cybersecurity awareness and best practices is critical, especially in the implementation and maintenance of such practices. On-going support and consulting for businesses will be vital to the success of this program. It would be difficult to train existing IT employees on all the issues concerning Cybersecurity, along with keeping up with the latest threats; not to mention the constant monitoring, analysis and reporting aspects that are required. It makes sense in most cases to establish a relationship with a vendor or "Certified" Institution, that manages this area full-time and has the proper relationships and infrastructure in place that provides the real-time monitoring and reporting expected for these services to be effective on a National scale.
Only time will tell if those running this effort in Washington DC will allow independent or local firms to play a role in this program. We are doing all we can to reach out and make our services known, which will allow us to create jobs and add value to internet users.
More to come!
